Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Virada LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our") handles your information when you use Virada: Jump Rope Classes, the mobile application formerly named Jump Start (the "Service").

The short version: you sign in with an account so your subscription and workout history follow you between devices. We store what that takes and nothing more. The camera never leaves your phone. Heart rate and calories stay on your phone unless you switch on syncing them. We do not run ads, we do not sell or share your information for advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

2. Information We Collect

Account

Your email address, a user ID we generate, and, if you use Sign in with Apple and choose to share it, your name. With Sign in with Apple you may hide your email, in which case we receive Apple's private relay address. There are no passwords; sign-in uses Apple or a one-time code sent to your email.

Workout History

Each finished session: its name and type, date, duration, the class it belonged to, jump count, pace, tempo figures, rounds and rest, and any personal records it set. This is stored with your account so your history, charts, and program progress appear on every device you sign in to. The classes you save are stored the same way.

Heart Rate and Calories

If you connect a Bluetooth heart rate monitor or turn on Apple Health, heart rate and calorie figures are shown live and kept with the session on your phone. They are stored with your account only if you switch on "Sync heart rate to my account." The switch is off by default. Switching it off again removes those figures from our servers and keeps them on your phone. See our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.

Subscription

Apple processes every payment. We never receive your card or billing details. Apple tells us which plan you hold, whether it is in a free trial, when it renews or expires, and a transaction identifier, so we can unlock classes on your devices.

Class Playback

When you stream or download a class we record which class it was and when. We use this to deliver the video and to detect accounts being shared in breach of the Terms.

Technical Records

Like any online service, our hosting and video delivery providers log requests, including IP addresses, for a limited time for security and troubleshooting.

3. What Stays on Your Device

• Camera. If you turn on jump counting, camera frames are analyzed on your phone with Apple's Vision framework to count jumps and measure tempo. No image or video from your camera is recorded, stored, or uploaded.
• Apple Health. If you turn it on, the app writes your workouts to Apple Health and reads heart rate during a session. Health data is never used for advertising or shared with third parties.
• Timers and preferences. Workouts you build, your settings, downloaded classes, and reminder times. Reminders are local notifications; no push server is involved.

4. How We Use Information

To sign you in, deliver the classes your subscription includes, keep your history in step across your devices, answer support requests, and protect the Service against misuse. We do not use your information for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Service Providers

We use a small number of companies to run the Service. Each processes information only on our behalf:

• Supabase (United States): account database and sign-in
• Bunny (European Union): video streaming and downloads
• Postmark (United States): delivery of sign-in code emails
• Apple: Sign in with Apple and subscription payments, under Apple's own privacy policy

We may disclose information if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.

6. Retention and Deletion

• We keep your account information for as long as your account exists.
• Delete your account at any time in the app under Profile, Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, workout history, saved classes, subscription record, and playback records from our servers. It does not cancel an App Store subscription; cancel that in your Apple Account settings.
• Deleting the app removes everything stored on your phone. Workouts written to Apple Health are managed in the Health app.

7. Your Choices and Rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to jeremiah@virada.net. We answer within 30 days and never charge for or penalize a request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law, including the right to appeal a decision we make about your request.

Permissions are yours to give or withhold. Camera, Apple Health, Bluetooth, and Notifications are each requested only for the feature that needs them, and the app works without any of them.

8. Security

Information is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to each account's records is restricted to that account, and class video is served through expiring signed links. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting your information we will notify you as the law requires.

9. Age Requirement

The Service is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to a minor, we delete it. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at jeremiah@virada.net.

10. Earlier Versions

Versions of the app released under the name Jump Start (version 1.x) have no accounts and make no connection to our servers. Everything in those versions stays on your device, and the sections above about accounts and servers do not apply to them.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy by posting the updated policy on this page and changing the "Last updated" date. If a change affects how we handle your information in a meaningful way, we will update this policy before the change ships.
